Before you begin your detox, you must remember one important thing: When you change and improve your diet and your lifestyle, your body must cope with the toxic waste within your body accumulated during many years.

Amrita Detox is a very gentle version of detox, and people usually do not experience any healing crisis since you do get to eat some food during detox in contrary with many juice fasts for example.

But having said that, you may actually feel worse before you get better, depends what foods you was eating before detox, how much stress you had in your life, how much exercises you did…

If you keep this in mind, you will be prepared to deal with your symptoms effectively should they arise. Remember, this will not last long, it will pass very quickly, usually just 2 or 3 days and you will start feeling so much better!  Amrita programme is a very gentle approach to eliminating toxins, but it still good idea to be aware of the common detox symptoms which you may ( or may not) experience:

  • Headaches
  • Nausea
  • Tiredness
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Аches and pains in the body
  • Constipation or diaarhoea
  • Gas/bloating
  • Irritability
  • Troubled sleep
  • Skin breakouts/Acne
  • New or unusual emotions

It is particularly important to be aware of your emotions.  They may come out during the detox and the only way to deal with it is to keep following this programme. Remember to drink plenty of water or herbal teas, sometimes it is a good idea to buy some relaxing and calming herbal teas such as chamomile to help you deal with your emotions and have a better sleep. Help yourself with munching on your favourite fruits this week, treat yourself with something which you don’t buy very often, maybe some exotic mango or passion fruits!


Exerscise, Yoga and Meditation also help a lot to distract yourself from some negative or unusual emotions, try to include them into your daily regime in order to feel as good as you possible can during this week.
